In Humble, Cupcake Quilts has closed and relocated its employees and services to the business’s Spring location at 1469 Spring Cypress Road, according to a statement from the business. The craft supply business is owned by Stacie Johnson.

The decision to close the store came as the building’s lease ended and was due to “changes in traffic patterns and consumer shopping habits,” according to the statement. An opening timeline and address for the business’s planned second location has not yet been announced.

“The customer feedback has been great with the move,” Marketing Manager Kelly Fontenot said in a Sept. 28 email. “We hope to find the right location on the east side to replant a Cupcake Quilts in the Humble/Kingwood/Porter area in the future.”

Cupcake Quilts offers sewing and quilting machine repair services; crafting lessons and workshops; and craft items, such as fabric, thread and patterns.
