29ers Bike Shop celebrated its grand opening in Kingwood on Dec. 16. Located at 2614 Chestnut Ridge Road, Ste. A, the bike shop specializes in big-wheel BMX bikes, parts and accessories. Additionally, the shop offers repair services for most bicycles.
29ers Bike Shop owner Ross Lapham said he opened the business after searching extensively for a big-wheel BMX bike in the area to no avail.
“When I finally got one, it was glorious,” Lapham said. “All those memories of my childhood and bicycling came flooding back. I felt like a kid again.”
Once Lapham bought the initial bike, he purchased more for his family and eventually began to track down bikes for his friends.
