Main Event will open its new Humble location May 2, Sales Manager Fara Snowden said. The grand opening date was announced Thursday at Kingwood Bizcom at Kingwood High School. "We're excited to be a part of Humble now," Snowden said. The 50,000-square-foot facility is planned on a 6-acre site and will feature a more modern design than Main Event’s other Greater Houston locations. It will offer 22 bowling lanes, two laser tag floors and a restaurant among other activities, she said. “This [Main Event’s design] is a look no one in Houston has seen yet,” said Adam Smith, vice president of development for Foremark Development. "Most of our units in Texas feature the old design.” Foremark is the development representative for Main Event. The development is part of a trend of growing retail and entertainment options in the Lake Houston area. Main Event will be an asset to Lake Houston area residents, Assistant City Manager Jason Stuebe said. “The city is already well established as a great retail destination,” Stuebe said. “The addition of a major entertainment chain like Main Event will compliment that nicely by providing a fun and interactive experience for families throughout the area.” Main Event has two Greater Houston area locations that offer bowling, a laser tag arena and pool, as well as a pizza cafe and a full-service bar. The events center could add about 100 jobs to the area, according to Main Event officials.
