What we reported
Back Pew Brewing held its grand opening in early March in Porter. The Lake Houston-area brewery is housed in a former church and features a lineup of beers separated into two categories: Saints, which are lighter and easier to drink, and Sinners, which include darker beers.
The latest
Back Pew introduced canned beers to its repertoire Dec. 6 by creating 32 barrels of its popular flavor Blue Testament. The cans sold out at Spec’s Wines, Spirits, Finer Foods locations. The beer could make its way to grocery stores in 2017 if Back Pew finds a wholesale partner, founder Bobby Harl said.
What’s next
The brewery is working on getting a second line of beer canned in 2017 and creating a new Saint-branded beer called Black Habit, a chocolate-flavored German dark beer.
