Fort Bend County and its Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management released an advisory notice for residents to prepare for an anticipated arctic cold front. The county will be under a hard freeze and wind chill watch in effect from Dec. 22-24.

The Dec. 20 release warns the county may experience possible power outages, risk of hypothermia, damaged piping and water systems, and gale force and storm force winds.

“As the county prepares for the cold front conditions, it is equally important for our residents to be prepared and understand that they need to take action,” Fort Bend County Judge KP George said in the release. “I encourage everyone to sign up for Fort Bend County Alerts to receive emergency updates and get the latest information they need to stay informed.”
