Katy-area residents awoke to freezing temperatures and a blanket of snow Feb. 15 thanks to a winter storm that brought frosty weather to the region.

Officials throughout Katy and the entire Greater Houston region urged residents to keep safe in the winter weather by staying indoors, reducing their power usage and keeping off the roads to avoid the dangerous winter conditions.
