The start of the Spring Green Boulevard roundabout project—initially expected to begin construction this month—has been delayed until November, officials said.
“The construction of Spring Green is pending the acquisition of right-of-way north of Crossover Road,” said Stacy Slawinski, assistant county engineer with Fort Bend County. "After [the right of way] is acquired, an existing gas line will be relocated and then the roadway construction will begin."
The $3.7 million project will create a four-legged, two-lane roundabout connecting the existing northern and southern segments of Spring Green Boulevard.
The roundabout will also be connected to Cinco Trace Drive and Katy Flewellen Road.

Slawinski said the project is now set to begin in November and be completed by March 2017.
An associated project—the widening and relocation of Crossover Road—is not affected by the roundabout change and is expected to be fully complete by November 2017, he said.
Another project in the area, the creation of a two-lane boulevard for northbound traffic on the east side of the existing northern segment of Spring Green Boulevard is set to be complete by mid-September, Slawinski said.
The project will create a two-lane boulevard with sidewalks and storm sewers from Morgan Parkway to the soon-to-be-complete South Firethorne Drive connection, he said. The southbound two-lane boulevard already exists, but is used for two-way traffic until the eastern portion is completed.
