The Salvation Army will open a new donation center in February at 403 W. Grand Parkway S., Katy, said John Romaka, the assistant director of operations of the Greater Houston Area Salvation Army. The location is accepting donations via a trailer until the space is ready, he said. As of Jan. 8, the location was hiring for six positions.

Proceeds from the sold items go to the Salvation Army’s Adult Rehabilitation Center, which helps men recover from drug and alcohol addiction. The Salvation Army also provides disaster relief and services for the homeless, veterans, youth and elderly. 713-869-3551.
