Feb. 18-19: 2022 Katy ISD FFA Livestock Show and Carnival

The Katy ISD FFA Livestock Show offers students a selection of agricultural pathways through which they can showcase their talents and abilities. The competition includes steers, goats, lambs, hogs, broilers and rabbits. A carnival will be held in conjunction with the rodeo Feb. 18-19 with tickets available for $25 per person. The carnival will be open Feb. 18 from 5 p.m.-midnight and Feb. 19 from noon-midnight. 7 a.m.-midnight. $10. Feb. 18: Boots and Broadway Fundraiser

Don't miss the Boots and Broadway fundraiser for Kingwood High School's theater department. Kingwood High School's Theatre Arts Booster Club is organizing the event to raise funds for providing meals to cast and crew during productions, grants for graduating seniors, and funding for the department and the annual Theatre Banquet in May. $50. Feb. 19: Youth Fishing Derby

The Harris County Precinct 4 is hosting its annual Youth Fishing Derby, where you can cast a line into a fish-infested pond. There will be prizes for catching the biggest fish, the smallest fish and the most fish. Children younger than 17 do not need a fishing license, and limited bait and equipment will be available. Feb. 19-20: Lake Houston Home & Outdoor Living Show

Feb. 19: Society of Justice & Equality for the People of Sugar Land 4th Anniversary Celebration of the Discovery of the SL95

A day of remembrance will be held by the Society of Justice & Equality for the People of Sugar Land in honor of the fourth anniversary of the discovery of the Sugar Land 95. It is believed that the Sugar Land 95 were individuals who died at Texas' Bullhead Convict Labor Camp during Texas' convict labor leasing program after the end of the Civil War, which was seen as an extension of slavery. 11 a.m. Free. Feb. 19: Muddy Trails 5K

Rob Fleming Park will host the Muddy Trails 5K. Taking place in the George Mitchell Nature Preserve, the race is an official 5K produced by The Woodlands Township.
