Katy Sip N Stroll, the community’s largest wine and culinary festival featuring 30 food tasting stations and over 250 beverage selections, is set to return on Nov. 6 featuring new wine, craft beer and culinary creations as well as live music. The event also serves as a good cause by raising funds for Cinco Charities' The Ballard House.

Constance McDerby, founder and co-producer of Food & Vine Time Productions, which produces the event, said Katy Sip N Stroll is the community’s most celebrated culinary and wine event.

“It is a great experience for a great cause,” McDerby said. “It’s a great experience for the patrons and gives the people face time with the community, with local business partners and their neighbors, all for a good cause.”

Proceeds benefit The Ballard House, a Cinco Charities community, in their mission to provide temporary housing for individuals and their families who are hospitalized or receiving treatment for a serious medical condition.

“From the beginning, Sip N Stroll’s charge was to raise awareness to what the mission of the Ballard House was while as the same time raising funds. Both of those things are critically important because if more people know about the Ballard House then people might sponsor a room or kitchen or some type of funding,” McDerby said.

The ticket price includes wine, beer and food samples. Tickets are available on the Katy Sip N Stroll website. All tickets will be an additional $5 at the door, if available.

“There will be 250 beverages, from wine to champagne to craft beer to spirits, and they are all inclusive,” McDerby said. “You can go from [station to station] and dance to the music. We will have two bands playing live music on two different stages and a DJ inside the building.”

There are a variety of volunteer opportunities available for the event.

“We are still looking for volunteers, and there is something for everyone,” McDerby said.
