There are several community events in the Katy area for residents to enjoy throughout July. Here are five upcoming events to check out.

July 3 through 4: Freedom Fest

Wildcatter Saloon will host live music and fireworks rain or shine. William Clark Green headlines the performance Saturday with Aaron Lewis on Sunday. July 9: Samy Jo Band live

July 16: Cinco Ranch Food Truck Friday

Every third Friday of the month, the Cinco Ranch Lake House hosts a variety of food trucks and vendors along with live music and games to keep visitors and their families entertained. 5-9 p.m. Free (admission). 25202 Springwood Lake Drive, Katy. 281-394-7195.

July 16 through 18: Nicole Byer at the Houston Improv Comedy Club

Nicole Byer, host of the Netflix original “Nailed It,” will perform three nights at the Houston Improv Comedy Club. This event is for those age 18 and older. July 23: Katy Summer Nights: Movies in the park

The Katy Parks & Recreation Department will show “Raya and the Last Dragon" and host vendors. Guests may bring snacks.The organizers recommend arriving early. The movie begins at dusk. Free (admission). 5850 Franz Road, Katy. 281-391-4800.
