Katy ISD has selected Martha Pulido as principal of Elementary School No. 44, located at 7400 Innovation Drive, Katy, in the Cane Island neighborhood. The campus, which will open for the 2022-23 school year, will provide relief to Bryant Elementary School.

With more than 25 years of experience in the education field, Pulido first served as an elementary teacher for Houston ISD. In 1999, she began her career with KISD at Sundown Elementary School. Pulido became assistant principal at Morton Ranch High School in 2012 and returned to Sundown as principal five years later.

“I look forward to my role in one of the district’s newest communities and will continue to focus on unparalleled learning experiences for the thousands of inquisitive and eager students who will come through our new campus over the years to come,” Pulido said in a press release from the district.

According to KISD, a committee will soon begin the process of naming Elementary School No. 44. District officials said they expect the board of trustees to approve a committee-recommended name in January.
