A patriotic day pep rally and community tailgate party will be held Nov. 8 in honor of Olympic gold medalist Tamyra Mensah-Stock, who will be visiting her alma mater, Morton Ranch High School, in Katy ISD.

Mensah-Stock graduated from Morton Ranch High School in 2011 and made Olympic history this year by winning the gold in women’s 68-kilogram wrestling at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

The pep rally starts at 2 p.m. and will be followed by a public tailgate party in the parking lot of the competition gym at 3 p.m. at 21000 Franz Road, Katy.
