Filing for the May 1 election opened Jan. 13 and closed Feb. 12. KISD board of trustees Positions 6 and 7 will be on the ballot to each serve a three-year term.
Between the two races, eight people filed to be on the ballot.
Position 6 incumbent Susan Gesoff, who currently serves as the board secretary, is seeking re-election for her seat, according to the district.
Gesoff drew five challengers for her seat. She will face Garima DasGupta, Bonnie Anderson, William X. Branch II, Joseph Wojcik and Rebecca Fox in the election.
Position 7 incumbent Dawn Champagne is also seeking re-election to her seat. She will face one challenger, Walter Butler, in the election.
Early voting for the election will run from April 19-27, according to the Texas Secretary of State’s Office.
