Katy ISD provided several updates about summer school and athletics in a May 3 letter to parents.

Elementary, junior high and high school summer school will be held online, according to the letter.

Original high school credit courses will be offered through Katy Virtual School, while recovery credit classes will be taught via Katy Online Learning Academy, per the release. it. Students who need technology devices from the district can extend their device checkout though July.

No details about returning devices was provided, though KISD plans to provide information about check-in and pickup processes for personal items left on campuses, caps, gowns and yearbooks this week, per the letter.


Additionally, the letter addressed a few athletics updates.

As of May 3, the summer 2020 athletics camps are on schedule, but they could be postponed or canceled if future local or state orders prohibit social gatherings, per the letter.

Also, KISD will release its 2020-21 University Interscholastic League physical form June 1. Physicals are required for incoming seventh-grade athletes, incoming ninth-grade marching band students, and some existing or new students in other grades.
