Chick N Max—a Kansas-based fast-casual restaurant offering almond wood-smoked chicken and wings, sandwiches and fried tenders—will open its second Houston-area location in Fulshear this summer.

Expected in June, the eatery will occupy a 3,000-square-foot space at the Market at Cross Creek shopping center along FM 1463 and Fulshear Bend Drive. The Chick N Max menu features 11 different sandwiches, some made with fried tenders and others with pulled chicken, with a variety of flavors. The restaurant also sells its chicken in wings, quarters, platters, bowls and salads.

In a Jan. 24 press release, Aaron Johnson—who has franchised the Fulshear location and is negotiating a site for The Woodlands—said the brand's made-from-scratch menu offers something for everyone's taste.

"The chicken segment of the restaurant space is no doubt an increasingly crowded one, but Chick N Max has perfected a niche that truly differentiates itself from the competition," Johnson said in an email.

With one other location in Willis, these new restaurants are the first of more than two dozen locations planned for the Houston area, per the release. Chick N Max announced a 25-unit development deal with Johnson in September. www.chicknmax.com
