On June 7, the Fort Bend County Commissioners Court approved a payment in the amount of $1.05 million to continue the construction of a new north library in Fulshear, located north of FM 1093 between Lamar CISD's Fulshear High School and Cross Creek Ranch, just west of Texas Heritage Parkway. Plans for the 41,500-square-foot, multistoried project began in July 2021 with oversight from Precinct 3, which used to serve the Katy and Fulshear areas before a redistricting of the precincts was approved in late fall. The library is estimated to be completed by mid-2023, county officials said.

James Knight, an architect and Fort Bend County's director of facilities, said in an email the only other library in Fulshear is the Bob Lutts Fuslhear/Simonton branch, which was built in 1998 and is only 10,400 square feet—making it one of the county’s smaller libraries. Knight said the new library is meant to support the growing population in Fulshear.

“With the significant growth in the area, we decided it was time to replace the library with a much larger one,” Knight said in an email. “The new library is [almost] 42,000 square feet, two stories, and is being built on 5 acres donated to the county.”

The new library's construction, fixtures, furniture and book collection are funded by a 2015 facilities bond, while the donated land came from the Ginter Family Investments group, according to a 2019 news report from Precinct 3. As previously reported by Community Impact Newspaper, the sum of the entire project totals around $14 million. The library will have collections for youth, teens and adults; a large community meeting room; and a covered outdoor second-level terrace reading area, Knight said.
