The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the Katy area reached 3,327, according to data available at 4:04 p.m. July 10. This is a daily increase of 76.

Data available June 10 showed the Katy area had a total of 1,314 confirmed cases, which amounts to an average daily increase of about 67.

These numbers reflect data available on Harris, Fort Bend and Waller counties’ respective COVID-19 information dashboards for seven Katy-area ZIP codes.

Only Harris County is providing full data on recoveries, deaths and active cases at the ZIP code level. About half of its 2,899 confirmed Katy-area cases have recovered.

Fort Bend County is only providing confirmed COVID-19 cases at the ZIP code level. There are a total of 418 cases.


Waller County is providing partial data at the ZIP code level, but it reported all 10 of its Katy-area cases have recovered.

None of the three counties are providing data on the total number of tests administered at the ZIP code level on their dashboards.

Below is a breakdown of the coronavirus case data for Katy’s three counties. Note that of the seven ZIP codes, 77449, 77084 and 77094 fall fully in Harris County. ZIP code 77441 falls fully in Fort Bend County. However, ZIP code 77493 falls within Harris and Waller counties; ZIP code 77450 falls within Harris and Fort Bend counties; and ZIP code 77494 falls within Harris, Fort Bend and Waller counties.

Harris County


The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the six Katy-area ZIP codes in Harris County totals 2,899, according to data available at 4:05 p.m. July 10.

Of those, 1,438 cases—or 49.6%—have recovered, and 1,445 are active. Sixteen people have died.

On June 10, there were a total of 1,131 confirmed cases in the six Katy-area ZIP codes in Harris County. Of those 675 cases—or 59.7%—were recovered, 446 were active, and 10 had died.



Fort Bend County


Fort Bend County’s Community Impact Dashboard is reporting only the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases since the beginning of the pandemic on the ZIP code level.

Data available at 4:05 p.m. July 10 shows the number of confirmed cases in three Katy-area ZIP codes in Fort Bend County grew day over day by 13 to 418.



Waller County

Waller County published a July 9 case count data update on its coronavirus webpage.


According to the July 9 update, accessed at 4:05 p.m. July 10, no new Katy-area cases have been reported. All 10 cases have recovered.

ZIP code-level data is not available for all of these cases.
