Live music, games and indoor playgrounds: 6 things to do in the Katy area to ring in the new year this weekend, Dec. 29-31


There are live music events and plenty of activities to avoid the cold, rainy weather all weekend long in the Katy area. Here are six events to help you ring in the new year:


The Dirty Reckless at EinStein’s Pub
The band plays its last show of the year at the pub. The band, which plays a variety of hard rock and heavy metal covers, will present a few new songs at the show. 9:30 p.m. Free. 873 S Mason Road, Katy. 281-398-6066.

Friday Night Friendzy at Altitude Trampoline Park
Fight the cabin fever and get out of the house and out of the weather while staying active on trampolines. Admission to the trampoline playground gets attendees three hours of jump time, a slice of pizza and a bottle of water. 7-10 p.m. $17. 24952 Katy Ranch Road, Katy. 281-394-9227.


All-you-can-eat pizza and skating at Mason Road Skate Center
Get the family out of the house for some fun at the roller rink. Basic admission includes all-you-can-eat pizza. Saturday Draft at 3rd Coast Cards

Live music and dinner with OMG at The Wildcatter Saloon

High School New Year’s Eve party at Grace Fellowship
All high school students may attend the movie-themed party hosted by the church’s youth ministry. Movies, games, popcorn and candy are all provided. A DJ will provide music. 10 p.m.-1 a.m. Free. 2655 S. Mason Road, Katy. 281-646-1903.
