Sugar Land
Sugar Land received $7.2 million in sales tax revenue in February based on January sales, which is $231,123 more than the city received in February 2022 when it received $6.97 million, or a 3.31% increase.
Year-to-date revenue totaled $12.7 million—a 3.34% increase over 2022’s revenue by the same time frame, which totaled $12.2 million. From February 2022 to February 2023, Sugar Land raised $72.1 million in sales tax revenue, which is 11.08% higher, or $7.2 million more than the same 13-month time period from February 2021 to February 2022.
Missouri City
Missouri City received approximately $1.55 million in sales tax revenue for the month of February, an increase of $161,527, or 11.63%, over February 2022’s revenue of $1.38 million.
Year-to-date, the city received $2.75 million, which is a 9.49% increase of $238,753 over 2022’s sales tax revenue total by the same time frame. From February 2022 to February 2023, Missouri City raised just over $16 million in sales tax revenue, which is 11.3% higher, or $1.63 million more, than the same 13-month time period from February 2021 to February 2022.
Katy
The city of Katy’s sales tax revenue continued to expand in February to $2.3 million, an increase of 15.68% over the same month last year. Year-to-date, Katy has received $4.1 million in sales tax revenue, an increase of 17.52%, or $615,347.
Houston
For its part, Houston has increased its sales tax base by approximately 12.53% since February 2022, elevating revenue from $79 million in February 2022 to $89.9 million in February 2023. Year-to-date, the city increased its revenue by a neat 8%, raising from $148.1 million by February 2022 to $160 million by February 2023.
