How does your experience qualify you to be a member of the KISD board of trustees?
I'm a fellow with the Center for Reform of School Systems, a graduate of leadership Texas Association of School Boards, a small business owner, and most importantly an active KISD parent. The combination of all those qualification make me the best person for the position.
If elected, what would your top three priorities be? How would you implement them?
When re-elected I will continue to fight to eliminate the STAAR test this burden must be removed from the classroom. We must restore teaching to the classroom and not standardized test. I will also work on expanding our JR. ROTC program and bring and early college high school to Katy ISD. I will continue to fight to lower our taxes and high quality of education for every student.
What are the most important financial and budgetary issues KISD should address?
The biggest issues we face is the state funding formula and make sure we continue to manage our debt as we build more schools.
