New Katy Amazon sorting center to employ 3,000 full- and part-time positions
Amazon's new sorting center is now open at 22525 Clay Road, Katy. The 800,000-square-foot building opened Oct. 9 and will serve as a facility to sort packages before they are transferred to a delivery station or to a last-mile delivery partner for final delivery for customers. The center will employ over 3,000 full- and part-time employees starting at $15 per hour.
Great Harvest Bread Co. opens second location in Katy area
Great Harvest Bread Co opened a second location inside the north campus of the Kingsland Baptist church Oct. 5. The bakery and cafe, located at 24111 Stockdick School Road, Katy, will serve coffee, sweets, sandwiches, salads and breads.
Frankies Pizza Kitchen reopens in Katy after ownership change
Frankies Pizza Kitchen reopened in early September after undergoing a temporary closure due to an ownership change. The pizza restaurant was formerly known as Big Paulie’s and is located at 6420 FM 1463, 100, Fulshear.
Sanskar Maharashtrian Veg. Cuisine gives owners opportunity to fulfill American dream in Katy
Megha Ozarker said she wholeheartedly believes in achieving the American dream.
When Ozarker first emigrated from India to the U.S. in 2005, she knew she wanted to be a restaurant owner but had no experience in the field, she said.
However, Ozarker was persistent, and after a lot of hard work and failures, she opened her own restaurant, Sanskar Maharashtrian Veg. Cuisine, in April 2019.
