Dec. 17: An Old-Fashioned Katy Christmas Festival


The seventh annual festival in Historic Downtown Katy is hosted by Katy Market Day in partnership with the city of Katy. It features produce, arts and crafts, antiques, jewelry, gifts, carolers, food, entertainment, Santa Claus and 50,000 pounds of snow. Photos with Santa are available, and No Label Brewing Co. hosts a beer garden across the street from where the pictures are taken. The event is a postponement from Dec. 3. 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Free. Dec. 17-31: WinterFest at Typhoon Texas


The inaugural event combines lights, music, food, family and Santa into a new tradition at Typhoon Texas. There is also real ice skating, the “Miracle of Christmas 4-D Spectacular,” Santa’s workshop and the WinterFest Express train. Attendees enjoy live performances by bands mixing country music and Christmas standards. 6-11 p.m. (Mon.-Thu.), 6 p.m.-midnight (Fri.-Sat.), closed Christmas Day.
