The board of trustees unanimously approved the calendar at its' Jan. 27 meeting, after the calendar option garnered the approval of 77% of respondents in a district survey administered between Dec. 18 and Jan. 9, district officials said.

The instructional calendar is consistent with previous years’ calendars, with a full week off for Thanksgiving and spring break, and a two-week break for winter break.
The approved calendar includes 83 instructional days in the fall semester and 89 instructional days in the spring semester, with district holidays for Independence Day, Labor Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Memorial Day, according to a Jan. 27 news release from the district

The Texas Education Agency made revisions to the flex day policies in September, only allowing teachers to take professional development outside of the workday before the start of the school year, Director of Student Affairs Sherri Ashorn said at the Jan. 13 work study meeting.
Previously, teachers were allowed two professional development days in October and February, which could be spent out of the classroom. Starting in the 2025-26 school year, those days will be converted to on-campus professional development days, Ashorn said.
