Fort Bend ISD will hold an expo at the James Reese Career and Technical Center to showcase its career and technical education programs Oct. 18. The event will begin at 6 p.m. at 12300 University Blvd. in Sugar Land and is open to the public.

What to expect

The expo will feature work from FBISD junior and senior students who participate at the Reese Center where they have an opportunity to earn industry certifications and dual credit in some program areas.

The student programs include the following:
  • Audio/video production
  • Automotive
  • Cosmetology
  • Culinary arts
  • Education and training
  • Health science
  • HVAC
  • Networking and computer maintenance
  • Veterinary medicine
  • Welding
In addition, the career and tech expo will include student performances as well as snacks prepared by culinary arts students.

What else


FBISD Superintendent Christie Whitbeck will provide district updates, including a brief presentation on the upcoming VATRE Proposition A election.

Students interested in the aforementioned fields can attend classes at the Reese Center for a portion of their school day and attend at their home campus for the remainder of the day.
