Confections shop Kilwins continues to expand in the southwest region of Houston with a new store expected to open in Katy’s LaCenterra by the end of the year.

According to an Oct. 23 news release from the retail center, Kilwins will open in a 1,1014-square-foot space next to Starbucks.

Its open kitchen concept, where visitors can view the step-by-step process of crafting several desserts, is a unique feature of the sweets shop. Some of these treats include chocolates, toffee and caramels; Mackinac Island fudge developed with an original recipe from Don and Katy Kilwin; ice cream; kettle corn; and caramel apples.
