Memorial Hermann System has launched its annual health and wellness program, Resolution, which has amassed over 100,000 participants since its inception in 2019, hospital officials said.

The program has since evolved to incorporate relationships with H-E-B and community fitness partners.

How it works

Starting Jan. 6, participants who sign up for the free program will receive resources throughout the next four weeks with a focus on exercise, nutrition, meditation and community, said Dr. Tapas Nuwal, family and community health physician at Memorial Hermann Medical Group Fairfield.

Participants will be emailed curated grocery lists for H-E-B, informative articles, and in-person and virtual fitness and mindfulness events featuring professionals from the Greater Houston area, according to a news release from Memorial Hermann.

“Having a digital community is kind of like having a friend. No matter what you do, together we are going to get these results,” Nuwal said.

Looking ahead

The online platform is meant to encourage people to develop new habits and continue these habits after the program ends in early February, Nuwal said.

“Living healthy is a life-long journey, not a destination,” Nuwal said. “This program is primarily designed in the first four weeks to kick-start healthy habits, but this is not an end all kind of thing.”
