More than 180,000 voters in Fort Bend County have already cast their ballots in person during the first week of early voting, county data shows.

Fort Bend County data shows 182,156 ballots have been cast as of Oct. 27 for the Nov. 5 general election, which accounts for nearly 33% of the county’s 555,569 registered voters.
This surpasses the November 2020 general election, where 128,846 ballots were cast in the first week of early voting, according to data from the Texas Secretary of State office’s website. In the 2020 election, 73.65% of the county’s registered voters cast ballots throughout the election.

Additionally, this election’s turnout also exceeds the 172,081 votes cast by the early voting halfway mark in 2020, when more voting days were allotted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Looking ahead

Registered voters have until Nov. 1 to cast their ballot at one of the county’s 32 early voting locations from 7 a.m.-7 p.m., according to Fort Bend County’s website.
