Katy- and Fulshear-area community members interested in running for a position in the March primaries can do so now.

The candidate filing period for the March 5 primaries opened Nov. 11 and runs until Dec. 11. In addition to presidential and statewide candidates, voters will have a chance to weigh in on which local candidate will represent their political party in the November 2024 election.

The gist

Several elected positions that represent the Katy and Fulshear area will be on the primary election ballot, according to the Fort Bend County website, Waller County officials and the Harris County website. These positions include:
  • Fort Bend County commissioner, Precinct 1 (Katy and Fulshear area)
  • Fort Bend County constable, Precinct 1 (Katy and Fulshear area)
  • Fort Bend County attorney (Katy and Fulshear area)
  • Fort Bend County sheriff (Katy and Fulshear area)
  • Harris County sheriff (Katy area)
  • Harris Count district attorney (Katy area)
  • Harris County attorney (Katy area)
  • Harris County constable, Precinct 5 (Katy area)
  • Waller County sheriff (Katy area)
