On the menu
Unlike the American corn dog, the batter of Korean corn dogs are made with rice flour and coated with Panko bread crumbs, owner Min Ju said. The fried savory sticks have five options for fillings, including traditional sausage or cheese, as well as numerous toppings, such as potato, elote or crushed spicy Cheetos. The menu also features sides such as loaded fries and a plethora of croffles, which are croissants toasted in a waffle maker and covered in sweet toppings.
"We are here to spread our great Korean culture,” Ju said. “I would think that learning food and learning people is the best way to go about learning another country’s culture.”The backstory
Ju grew up eating Korean corn dogs, and she said she felt a push to turn to her childhood while operating a seafood restaurant.
“Even when I was running the seafood restaurant, I still kept having the passion of opening one of my own Korean corn dog [shops],” Ju said.
The Katy eatery is the third Houston-area location for the small business, with Ju opening the original location in Cypress in 2021 and a second in 2023 south of Beltway 8. The Changs, who are husband and wife, were attracted to the concept and wanted to open the newest location in Katy, Ju said.
