Persian ice cream truck Last Call Ice Cream has added a brick-and-mortar location to its portfolio.

The gist

Owner and chief ice cream maker Allen Ebadat’s family has run ice cream businesses since 1958. Ebadat said he’s taken inspiration from his grandfather’s love of the treat to open his own ice cream shop.

Last Call Ice Cream originated in 2018 as an ice cream truck, which now parks at 3428 Fondren Road, Houston. The Katy shop is its first brick-and-mortar location, a store representative said.

On the menu

The menu features Persian ice cream recipes dating back to 1958, with flavors including:
  • Pomegranate
  • Nutella banana
  • Horchata rice pudding
  • Biscoff cookie butter
  • Peanut butter and jelly
The menu also includes vegan ice cream options made with coconut base, according to its website.

Beyond traditional ice cream, the menu also includes:
  • Faloodeh, which is a traditional Perion cold dessert with thin vermicelli-sized noodles made from starch in a semi-frozen rose water syrup
  • Saffron pistachio bastani, which is blend of saffron and rosewater with pistachios
  • Cream bastani, which is Persian ice cream with chunks of cream
Notable quote

“Katy/Cinco Ranch is one of the friendliest places in Houston with folks that seem to value high-quality products and spending time together as families,” the representative said. “When we looked for a storefront and designs, we made sure our store had plenty of space for families to hang out together.”
