After searching the Katy area for the perfect business location, Alex Hao said his wife, Yana Yin, was driving around on a rainy day when she saw a for lease sign in Cinco Ranch Market Center.

It was what they believed was God’s guidance and blessing that led them to reach out to the landlord to open Trophy Tea Cafe, serving boba and poke, Hao said.

The cafe was born out of Yin’s love for culinary arts and her passion and desire to serve the community, Hao said in an email.

On the menu

The menu brings a variety of poke bowls, with options for bases and proteins including fresh tuna and boiled shrimp. Beverage options include brown sugar boba milk and cheese foam matcha lattes to wash it down.

The menu is made from high-quality ingredients they would serve to their own family, Hao said.

Something to note

As a mother of four, Yin aims to demonstrate her courage, entrepreneurship and her pursuit of the American dream, Hao said. She also wants to create a legacy through the cafe, which she hopes to pass down to her children,.

“The establishment of Trophy Tea Cafe was driven primarily by Yana—as her husband and co-owner, I am continually inspired and moved by her courage and dedication,” he said.
