Mandito’s Tex Mex, meaning “little Armando” in Spanish, opened its newest Houston-area location in the Katy area.

The details

The concept serves “elevated” Tex-Mex cuisine, which includes from-scratch menu items, margaritas and other cocktails, salads, burrito bowls and family platters, according to a news release.

The concept comes from Cinda and Armando Palacios, co-owners of Palacios Murphy Hospitality. Armando Palacios is behind the Houston staple, Armandos; Mandito’s is a casual, cantina-style version of Armandos while keeping the food quality and contemporary atmosphere, per the release.

Quote of note

“As a Katy resident, I am thrilled to bring Mandito’s Tex-Mex to a neighborhood I cherish,” Chief Operating Officer Alex Curley said in the release. “There is nothing more gratifying than doing what you love, while giving back to a community that has given my family so much.”

What else?

This is the third location for the restaurant, with the other two in Bellaire and Round Top. The location also includes a patio for outdoor seating, according to the release.
