Paris Banh Mi cafe and bakery is now open in Katy.
The new Vietnamese sandwich shop and cafe was founded in Orlando and has one other Houston-area location in Pearland.
According to the business's website, the banh mi sandwich was developed in Saigon during the 1950s, after the French baguette became a food staple in Vietnam.
The banh mi is most popularly comprised of jalapeno peppers; mayonnaise; cucumber; pickled daikon and carrot; cilantro; and a protein, such as pate, pork or chicken.
