Residents in eastern Katy can weigh in on future transportation, housing and green space projects at Harris County Precinct 4’s upcoming community workshop.

The details

Community members can participate in the April 20 workshop from noon-2 p.m. at Morton Ranch Elementary School, 2502 North Mason Road, Katy, according to an email from the precinct. Interested participants can sign up to receive more information about the event here.

The backstory

Feedback from this event will be incorporated into the Katy East Community Plan and Mobility Study, which kicked off in October and will move forward throughout this year. The first public engagement session was held Jan. 20.

The study area includes the portion of unincorporated Harris County south of Clay Road, west of Hwy. 6 and following the county line up to Katy Fort Bend Road, according to the study's website.

What’s next

After the April 20 meeting, Precinct 4 staff plan to hold their third and final workshop in July, where staff will show updated project recommendations and receive the last round of community comments.

The final list of project recommendations will be released in August; however, all projects will need funding identified before they can begin, said Syan Rhodes, Precinct 4 press secretary and director of media relations.
