Braids of Katy, initially established in summer 2022, has relocated to a permanent space in the Katy area, co-owner Marneisha Walker said.

The details

Salon staff will celebrate the brick-and-mortar location with a grand opening party Feb. 16, which will feature food, drinks, raffles and giveaways, as well as a live DJ, Walker said.

Braids of Katy offers a variety of braiding services for women, men and kids, as well as dreadlocks, twists and natural hair care—including silk presses, shampoo and blowouts and finger coils, according to the company's website.

The background

The salon previously operated out of a salon suite in the Katy-area, Walker said. The shop will be honored by City Council members and Katy Mayor William H. Thiele at a ribbon-cutting ceremony Feb. 12.
