Multiple businesses have closed in Katy since January, citing multiple reasons. This list is not comprehensive.
1. A woman's clothing and jewelry boutique
Beau Kisses closed its Katy store in January, staff confirmed via phone. The boutique still operates a store in Cedar Park and online.
2.
Boyert Shooting Center, an indoor shooting range and gun store, officially closed in mid-May due to the property's contract being sold, per an announcement on its website.
3. Local bakery
Proud Pie sold the last of their artisan pies on July 1, according to a Facebook post from the company. The same post stated the business could not keep up with rent and sales tax payments. The bakery would have been established for nine years in November.
Community Impact reached out via Facebook for more information but didn't hear back as of press time.
4. Representatives with
Salad and Go confirmed the Katy restaurant on Westheimer Parkway has permanently closed "to better support drive-thru, delivery and future catering." The fast casual eatery still has several Houston-area locations, including its
newest location in Cypress.
5.
Wild Birds Unlimited closed its Katy store in early February, confirmed staff at the nature store's Memorial Drive location. Customers can still shop for animal feeders and food products at one of the business' seven other Houston-area locations and online.
