Northwest Katy residents will have a new child care option opening later this year.

What parents need to know

Franchise co-owners Belinda Ferrero, Christian Marine, Marylena Garcia and Sergio Olave will host a groundbreaking May 10 for the new Kiddie Academy of Sunterra. The location will bring 204 spots for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old for part-time, full-time and before- and after-school care, according to a May 7 news release.

This is the partners’ second location of the franchise, with the first opening in Elyson at 23100 Elyson Falls Drive, Katy, in 2019.

The new 11,400-square-foot location will focus on green practices by including solar panels for energy conservation, according to the release. The building will also feature:
  • 11 classrooms
  • An outdoor play area with a splash pad, basketball court and soccer field
The location will bring approximately 25 jobs to the area, according to the release.

The franchise owners are excited to assist local children in developing confidence and building their self-esteem to enhance their future endeavors, Ferrero said.
