Just a few weeks after celebrating its one-year anniversary in Katy, Home Run Dugout officially announced a $2.7 million expansion breaking ground in late April.

The details

The entertainment venue—which provides an immersive baseball playing experience, a rotation of events and concerts, and an on-site restaurant and bar with a patio and biergarten—will add 9,242 square feet for more event hosting space.

According to an April 17 news release, the expansion will also include 10 new indoor batting bays on the north side of the building, bringing the total number to 22.

Construction is estimated to conclude by this summer, per the release.

Quote of note

Tyler Bambrick, CEO of the entertainment center, said in a statement the expansion is due to support the venue has garnered from the Katy and larger Houston community in the past year.

"One of our biggest takeaways from our first year of business was the need for additional batting bays to give groups a chance to experience the essence of Home Run Dugout," Bambrick said in the release. "The new bays, paired with additional event-hosting space, will give that many more people the opportunity to experience the fun of HRD.”
