Works to restore and widen one of Fort Bend County’s oldest roads, located in Katy, continues after its delayed April completion.

Whats new?

On July 11, Fort Bend County commissioners approved the third contract amendment to the total design cost of a Greenbusch Road widening and restoration project that will convert the street from a two-lane asphalt road into a four-lane concrete road and update the existing bridge over Buffalo Bayou between Gaston Road and Westheimer Parkway.

The engineering firm Aguirre & Fields, LP was contracted for design services on Greenbusch Road. The design cost is now $1.04 million, due to “necessary changes on the project” officials said in an email.

In case you missed it

This now $8.16 million project has been ongoing since March 2022, Community Impact previously reported. Delays were caused by right-of-way issues and the construction contractor’s slow progress, officials said.

Officials could not provide an updated completion date by press time.
