Tree Town, a preschool for kids ages 2-5, has plans to open in fall 2023, just in time for Katy ISD’s upcoming school year. The child care center will be located at 2101 N. Mason Road, Ste. B, Katy, and also offers before- and after-school programs for elementary school-aged children up to sixth grade.

Instead of traditional classrooms, Tree Town is modeled as a miniature city. Co-owner Sofia Castro Kennedy said all lessons adhere to Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills and are based on real-world scenarios. These lessons are designed by professionals in the specific fields of the individual sectors of a community, she said.

“We have a gym, grocery store, hospital, restaurant, hotel and theatre indoors,” Castro Kennedy said. “Outside play will have the city streets, construction site and garden.”

In addition, kids will learn the value of money with a play debit card, where all earnings are divided into spending, saving and donation categories. 281-789-3013. www.thekidzcapital.org
