Officials with the Montrose Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone in Houston will host a public meeting Jan. 23 on a proposed $52 million improvement project along Montrose Boulevard.

The meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 1805 W. Alabama St., Houston. The goal is to receive feedback on the project, TIRZ officials said.

Details on the improvements were discussed at a Dec. 12 Montrose TIRZ meeting. The target area spans from Allen Parkway to I-69, and proposed improvements include wider sidewalks, safer crossings and improved drainage, Community Impact previously reported.

Gauge Engineering is carrying out the design work on the project. Timeline estimates from project officials in December suggested design work from Allen Parkway to West Clay Street could begin in January, and construction could begin in January 2024.
