Home sale activity across five local ZIP codes continues to be strongest in the Heights area, though the number of homes sold was relatively flat when comparing September 2023 with September 2022 in the 77008 ZIP code. Sales rose by 15% and 20% in the 77019 and 77098 ZIP codes, respectively, when comparing the two months, and sales dropped in the 77006 ZIP code, which covers parts of Midtown and Montrose. Meanwhile, median home sale prices were up in four of five local ZIP codes when comparing September 2023 with September 2022, dropping in the 77098 ZIP code. The largest percentage increase was seen in the 77019 ZIP, where prices were up 45% when comparing the two months.
The average number of days a home spent on the market dropped in four of five local ZIP codes, falling by eight or more days in those ZIP codes. The 77007 ZIP code saw an increase in the average number of days on market.
Of the 211 homes sold in September in the area, about 40% of them were in the $500,000-$750,001 price range, while 18% of them sold for more than $1 million.
