Four months after the departure of its president, the Greater Heights Chamber of Commerce has named board member Dee Farino its interim leader.

The chamber's chairman of the board Teresa Nicolas-Briggs announced the decision Sept. 4.

Farino has been involved with the chamber since 2005, became a member of the board of directors in 2006 and has served as chairman of the board, among other roles.

"Dee’s Chamber knowledge was essential in the Board’s decision and we are confident that her experiences will help us through these uncertain times and lead us to a new tomorrow," Nicolas-Briggs wrote in the announcement.

Previous President Louis Gill stepped down in May after almost six months in the role. In late August, the chamber also saw staff member Jill Johnston leave for a new position and Larry Plasek step down to retire.
