On Nov. 12, the Community Artists’ Collective will hold FestEve!35 to mark 35 years of bringing arts and culture to the Houston area. The celebration will take place at the Decorative Center of Houston at 5120 Woodway Drive, Ste. 3002, Houston. The event will begin at 6 p.m. with a VIP reception and will feature works of art, live performances, and a silent and live auction.

The evening’s entertainment will include Houston’s Poet Laureate Outspoken Bean and the Carver High School stilt walkers as well as solo instrumentalists and vocalists, dance troupes and jazz bands.

The Community Artists’ Collective is a nonprofit that works to provide artistic programs for children and adults in the Greater Houston area, including exhibitions, historical preservation and tourism, according to an Oct. 18 news release.

To increase momentum for the fundraiser, before Nov. 12 there will be a reception at the Transart Foundation; two exhibitions at The Collective, “Every Body” and the annual quilt show “Hearts, Hands, and Heritage”; an artists seminar at the collective; and a silent auction at POST Houston, 401 Franklin St, Houston, featuring works by Jo El Mercer and Ezra Hezekiah. The silent auction will continue until Nov. 30. Two more events will be held at POST Houston during the silent auction: a luncheon with chef Soren Pedersen on Nov. 18 and a symposium Nov. 30.

Individual tickets begin at $250, and sponsorship packages are available. 713-523-1616. www.thecollective.org
