As officials with the Montrose Mexican eatery Cuchara prepare for the venue's 10-year anniversary, a new venture is also opening soon across the street.

Cucharita, described as a Mexican breakfast spot, will open at 315 Fairview St., Houston, sometime in September, officials announced in a press release.

The restaurant will serve breakfast Tuesdays through Sundays from 7 a.m.-3 p.m., according to a release. Dishes will include huevos enfrijoladas, enchiladas poblanas and tamales de mole. A caviar experience, Centéotl, will also be offered.

The dining room’s environment will be “festive and feminine” with artwork from Cecilia Beaven, the Mexico City-based visual artist whose works can be found in Cuchara. The space will also serve as an occasional speakeasy and private party space in the evenings, according to the release.

Meanwhile, Cuchara is one block over from the new eatery at 214 Fairview St., Ste. 1, Houston.
