According to a July 14 press release, the rebrand includes a slew of renovations to the 284 suite-style rooms and the 8,000 square feet of meeting space that will be used for social gatherings and business.
“As a Tapestry Collection by Hilton hotel, we will offer guests upscale ambience and amenities in a setting with its own unique style and vibrant personality, not to mention direct proximity to Houston’s most exclusive and premiere shopping districts,” Managing Director Brett Orlando said in the release.
According to The Chifley’s fact sheet, the hotel offers on-site valet and self parking, complimentary local transit, a 24-hour on-site fitness center with Pre-Cor and Peloton equipment, in-room Lavazza espresso and coffee, luxury bathrobes and nest bath amenities, a year-round outdoor pool and a whirlpool.
The name Chifley comes from the weaving process “schiffli “ that utilizes hundreds of needles to stitch patterns into lace—a nod to Houston’s diverse community and culture, the release said.
“The character of The Chifley will fit perfectly with Houston’s forward-thinking, independent spirit,” Orlando said. “Guests who spend the night here will feel the energy and be able to soak in the culture of the area.”
Included in the hotel’s renovations is a new restaurant and bar, Rouse. According to the release, the establishment is a fusion of Mexican, barbecue and Asian cuisine and will have the ability to seat 76 people in the main dining room and 50 people at the bar.
“Like The Chifley, Rouse will embrace all of our community’s cultures with an infinite number of cuisine combinations so diners won’t have to settle for one flavor,” Orlando said. 713-598-2444. www.thechifleyhouston.com
