Just over two months after the opening of Mayan-inspired Casa Nomad within the mixed-use M-K-T Heights development on North Shepherd Drive, the same trio of developers are preparing to open a new patio bar next door.

Highline Park is slated to open Dec. 3 in a 4,588-square-foot space that seats 150 people on top of a 1,500-square-foot covered outdoor patio that will provide resort-style seating for 100 people and views of Lawrence Park, and the Heights Hike and Bike Trail.

The project is being developed by Roland Keller, Keith Doyle and Tyler Barrera, who also launched Casa Nomad in September and whose previous projects include Wicklow Heights on West 19th Street. Highline Park will share a bathroom and kitchen with Casa Nomad.

“While Casa Nomad embodies our favorite parts of our travels through Mexico, Highline Park is a casual, big patio bar like Wicklow Heights with the addition of the chef-driven food menu we’ve always wanted to do,” Keller said.

The cocktail menu will feature classic cocktails and creative spins on classics. Meanwhile, the food menu is curated by Executive Chef Vincent Forchelli, a native New Yorker and the former executive chef of Diana American Grill at the Hobby Center. Options include appetizers such as loaded queso, the Highline Corndog and the Bang Bang Shrimp, made with sweet chili fried shrimp, Vietnamese shredded cabbage, chives and spicy mayo.

The broader menu includes salads and main courses, such as the Highline Smashburger, made with Highline Sauce, a blend of cheeses and caramelized onions.

The bar will be open from 4 p.m.-midnight from Sun.-Fri., from 4 p.m.-2 a.m. on Saturdays. www.highlineparkhtx.com
