The Alabama-based Steel City Pops announced it closed 11 locations on Nov. 1, including all of its Houston-area shops. "As sad as we are to close these locations, we know in order to keep a healthy, growing business we need to scale back the number of stores we’re operating," the company wrote in a blog post. The closure affected its locations at 2565 Amherst St., Houston; 420 E 20th St., Ste. A, and 15958 City Walk, Sugar Land. The company said it will continue to provide catering service to large events in the Houston area. www.steelcitypops.com
