A new 36,000-square-foot Kelsey-Seybold clinic opened Feb. 11 in the Upper Kirby District.

Long story short

According to a Feb. 11 news release, the health care clinic offers highly specialized medical care, ambulatory surgery and functions as a cancer center.

“Our organization is centered around quality, coordinated and evidence-based care," Dr. Sumana Basu, the managing physician at the new Kirby clinic said in the release. "To do these things well, our clinics need to be near where our patients live and work. This new clinic in Upper Kirby District will open up access for patients in this vibrant area that connects many smaller communities together.”

The new clinic is able to accommodate up to 18 providers offering internal and family medicine, and pediatrics, along with specialty services such as dermatology, endocrinology and orthopedics. The cancer center also includes patient access to an on-site laboratory and radiology.
